No Job Too Big Or Small
Main Water Line Replacement in Las Vegas, NV
The pipe that runs from your water meter to your house is your responsibility, not the water district’s. That’s true whether you’re on Las Vegas Valley Water District (LVVWD) or City of Henderson water. When that line starts leaking, you pay for the water it loses and for the repair.
We replace main water lines all over the valley. Last quarter it was the biggest part of our work.

Where your responsibility starts
Both LVVWD and the City of Henderson draw the line at the meter.
- Street side of the meter: that’s the utility’s pipe, and they fix it.
- House side of the meter: that’s yours, all the way to where the line enters your slab.
If you’re not sure which side a leak is on, call us. We’ll find it before anyone digs.
How to tell if your main line is leaking
Start with the meter test. Turn off every faucet, the sprinklers, and anything else that uses water. Then open the lid on your meter box and watch the dial. If it’s still moving, water is going somewhere.
Other signs we see on almost every main line job:
- A water bill that jumped when your habits didn’t change
- Low pressure at every fixture, not just one
- A wet patch in the yard that never dries out, or grass that’s greener along one strip
- Cracking or sinking in a walkway or driveway over the line’s path
LVVWD customers with smart meters may also get a text or phone alert from the Water District when usage runs unusually high. Don’t ignore that alert. It’s often the first sign of a main line leak.
5-Star Reviews For Our Main Water Line Replacement in Las Vegas, NV

Repair it or replace it?
We’ll tell you which one makes sense for your line. If one section failed and the rest is in good shape, a spot repair is the cheaper answer. If the line has leaked before, or it’s an older line that’s breaking down, you’ll likely keep paying for repairs until it’s replaced.
When you need water back on today but aren’t ready to commit to a replacement, we can do a temporary repair to stop the leak while you plan. That’s common with rentals, HOA properties, and homes in escrow.

What it costs
Most of the full main line replacements we did last quarter came in between $3,500 and $7,500. What moves the price:
- The distance from the meter to the house
- Whether we’re digging through dirt, rock, pavers, or concrete
- The pipe size, and what’s already in the ground
Spot repairs cost far less. You get a written price before we start, and financing is available.
Programs that can help with the cost
The water utilities in the valley offer programs that can offset part of a leak. Terms change, so check the current rules with your utility before you count on any of them.
- LVVWD leak programs. LVVWD has leak adjustment and leak repair reimbursement programs. Most require the leak to be repaired first, and documentation of the repair helps.
- City of Henderson Leak Adjustment Program. It requires proof of repair, such as a plumber’s invoice. We provide an itemized invoice on every job.
- Service line protection plans. Both LVVWD and the City of Henderson have partnered with third-party companies to offer optional coverage for the line from the meter to the house. If you already have one of these plans, call the plan provider first. They may have their own contractor process.
Property managers and realtors
A main line leak on a rental or a listing turns into a tenant problem or a closing problem fast. We work with property managers and real estate agents around the valley. You get a written scope, photos, and an invoice you can pass to an owner or an escrow file.
Warranty
Our work comes with a warranty on labor. We’ll go over the terms with you in writing before the job starts.
Questions we get a lot
Usually not for the pipe itself. LVVWD notes that service line repairs typically aren’t covered by homeowners policies. Some policies do cover damage the water caused. Check yours.
Yes. Your home has a shutoff valve, usually near the water heater, the softener, or in the garage. The meter box also has a shutoff at the meter. If the leak is between the meter and the house, closing the house valve won’t stop it.
Someone needs to be available at the start so we can confirm the line’s path and where we’ll dig. After that, it depends on the job.
Yes. That includes Henderson, North Las Vegas, Summerlin, Enterprise, Spring Valley, and Silverado Ranch. See our service area.
Yes. Nevada LIC# 0087688 | LIC# 0087970. Insured.
